Q: During winter my hair is doubly dry as I use a straightener and blow-dryer daily. What can I do

Answer:

It’s hard to avoid blow-drying your hair in winter, so to keep it in top condition, always remember to use a thermal conditioning product before drying and styling with heated appliances.

Some good-value options include Dove Defence Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner, 130mL, $7.99 each and Garnier Fructis Nutri-Repair 5 Minute Ultra Nourishing Butter Mask, 300mL, $10.85.

I have to agree with the above comments! My hairdresser recently recommended I try the Kevin Murphy shampoo and conditioner and heat defence spray,.. it makes your hair feel amazing and it smells great!!
I have come across the Kevin Murphy range available from my salon, I have never used a product more effective. They have a whole range dedicated to heat defence, whether it's winter or summer I *** dry and straighten my hair each day occassionally giving it a rest on Sundays & you would never think I do that to my hair each day. I have even been stopped by a girl in a store who commented on how healthy and shiny my hair looks, to which I responded try Kevin Murphy, after seeing her again she's converted & is on her way to have healthy & shiny hair too.
My hair is long, straight and very thick and cut into shaggy layers, I usually wash my hair at night in winter and condition the ends only with a really heavy conditioner which I rinse out, after *** drying it I rub a little hair wax or lanolin (or a little drop of olive oil if nothing else is handy) in the dry ends and put my hair up in an elastic band like a bun to sleep. The next day it is glossy and has kinks in it from being up in a band all night, all it needs is a quick brush and I am out the door! If I just wash and *** dry my hair it goes all wild and frizzy and looks really dry. Sleeping on it relaxes it...truly!
Its the best stuff in the world. most hair dressers have started stocking it, or get it off ebay.
Why Not try a Shampoo Bar? Hair is often damaged and stripped of its natural lipid coating by harsh shampoos, leaving hair dry, brittle and lacking luster. It depends on the function of your conditioner. Hair "conditioner" is a very vague term. Hair conditioners fall into different categories depending on what you want to accomplish with your hair. If you are using a conditioner because your hair is dull, lacks luster, and is dry--the answer is probably no. Since commercial shampoos contain petroleum products which are actually drying to your hair and scalp, conditioners are often needed. Our natural shampoo bars will not strip the natural oils from your hair, so you will not need the typical moisturizing conditioners that people use to replace the natural oils stripped by detergent shampoos. I use a shampoo bar and My Hair is very healthy.
I use leave-in treatments, in my hair, while i sleep. I find it saves time & revitalises my hair. When i wake-up I just wash my hair, style it & go off to work, without spending hours conditioning & puting products in my hair. I also find my hair is less frizzy & easier to manage.
